Today I thought I’d share my latest piece of art with you (I finished it yesterday). It’s called “Hedged,” (acrylic, 48″x32″) based on Psalm 91:

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust. Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day… for he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. They will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.” (Psalm 91:1-5,9-11).

What makes this piece so special to me is that I was able to capture one of my spectacular experiences with angels in such a way that I can say, “Yeah, that’s what it was like.” During a particularly difficult time during my single years, I awoke in my bedroom in the middle of the night to behold a patchwork quilt of angels with interlocking wings, forming an angelic hedge all around me. They didn’t fit in my room, exactly—in fact, while I could still see my room, the rest of the vision was dimensionless. You can get a close up of the image by clicking on it.

My reaction to this amazing scene? Peace. Within a minute or so, they’d put me back to sleep.

What about you? Have you ever experienced what you thought might well have been an angelic intervention? Or, have you ever seen an angel?
